The Unknown

A National Film and Television School animated short film by the director Stephanie Marshall.

The car had to fit the films primary character puppet whilst allowing access for the animator. The car side panels is removable for an alternate replacement ‘crashed’ panel to be fitted. Car bonnet and boot are removable and held in place magnetically for practical lighting to be adjusted.

Animation provided and converted into physical animatable and indexed silhouettes. Clean up and conversion before laser cutting was required and development of two rigging systems to hold the puppets whilst not being visible when in use.Techniques used:
